Our story
I built the coach I wish I'd had.
Train Ultra is made by one person, for athletes who train hard and mostly go it alone.
The coach I paid for.
I once spent real money on a coach. Not a little. And the part that stung was never the price. It was that the person on the other end never really co-invested in me. Not the time, not the energy, not the care. I'd send a hard week of training into the void and get back a thumbs up, if I got anything at all.
A coach is supposed to be the one person who is actually paying attention to your training. Mine wasn't. So I stopped paying, and I started building.
So I built the opposite.
Train Ultra is the coach I wanted. One that reads every workout closely, remembers what I'm training for, notices when my easy pace is creeping up or my recovery is sliding, and tells me the truth about it. It pays attention to every single session, because that is the whole job.
I'm not trying to build an AI that sounds like a coach. I'm building one that knows your training the way a coach should.
The coach is the product.
Most of us are drowning in data and starving for someone who is actually watching. Train Ultra reads every workout you post to Strava, factors in your goals and your recovery, evaluates your sessions, summarizes your weeks, and is there to talk it through whenever you want. The evaluations prove it's paying attention. The titles are a small delight. The relationship is the point.
What I believe.
It should work with what you already use. No new device, no new logging habit. Connect Strava and keep training the way you train.
Your data is yours. I read only what's needed to coach you, never sell it, and never use it to train AI models. You can disconnect or delete in a tap.
Honesty over flattery. A good coach tells you when the session was great and when it wasn't. I would rather be useful than nice.
Who's behind it.
Train Ultra is Spare Mile Studio, which is just me. I'm an endurance athlete and an engineer, and I use this every single day for my own training. If you've got thoughts, I genuinely want them. Reach me through Support.
Train with a coach in your corner.
Connect Strava and meet a coach who reads every mile and remembers all of it.
